The guys always joke about how WMR will ruin their lives, relationships, careers, credibility, etc.
How has WMR affected the listeners? Has anyone actually lost their job, relationship, friends, or otherwise because of the show? Has anyone been promoted, won something, or benefited because of the show?

affected* and yea, listening to the show made me learn that I'm not the only one with such a fucked up sense of humor and opened my eyes to a new world. I got a job doing what i wanted, better grades in school, and a set of new friends, all thanks to the confidence the show gave me in knowing I'm not alone :]

I've started imagining strange things while doing mundane activities. For instance, when I was watching Ninth Gate (not that great, really) I imagined that whenever Johnny Depp took off is glasses, he had no eyes.

Back when I was around 15, I started to listen to WMR. It's helped me through depression, given me great live/sex advice, and given me some of my best internet friends that I could ever hope for. A lot of things I've gone through I've done with WMR - Birthdays, break ups, rough times with family, school changes and huge projects, and even my down time playing video games consumes me with WMR. Long trips demand listening to them in my iPod. I turned an adult with WMR, and I'll reach my 20's (hopefully) listening to them. I found my true music taste through Brian.
In short, my life has been affected majorly from them. Whether they care or not, I do. When they took a year hiatus it sucked. But here's to more prosperity and bigger, better, longer shows in the future.

WMR is great. I started listening a couple years back, at the time I was 15 and I had christian parents who tried to brain wash me into believing in god. I was almost convinced that god existed until I found Yotam Perel's animation of the aristocrat joke. So I started listening to wreckless and I slowly stopped believing in god.
If I hadn't found WMR I probably would have turned into some crazy follower of god wasting my time going to church and trying to push Christianity onto others.

I've been in and out of the hospital and every doctor's office within a thirty mile radius for the past five years. On top of feeling as if I'm about to die for the majority of every day, I had to deal with soul-crushing depression stemming from sickness, loneliness and struggle with a learning disability as my school years blurred around me. There were times during this period where I didn't even have any internet friends let alone "real life" ones. I found WMR about three years ago (like others, through the "Aristocrat Joke" animation) and it became a major part of my weekly routine. Everything would be okay because the latest episode would be up on Friday after I was done with school, and everything did turn out okay.
Also I was runner-up in the "shock Brian" VIP giveaway contest (I sent in the manga/comic about the quadruple amputee eating hardened shit out of her sister's asshole, lol). He said on the show that I got nothing for being second best but he did end up giving me VIP so that was pretty neat.

I've noticed that I've become a wittier person since I started listening to the show. People generally like me more. That is, when I'm not offending them with the surreal, shocking WMR-inspired non-sequiturs I come up with during conversation.

WMR gave me the absurdist sense of humor I now possess. It made me realize how silly and pointless and even dangerous religion is. WMR's helped me through a number of all-nighters. WMR's been there for me through the good and the bad (and it helped me out of a few major depressing slumps, like my first major break-up).
I can still say with certainty that WMR is my favorite podcast, and I listen to a TON of others, so that says a lot.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned the music played on WMR. It's definately influenced my musical tastes.

WMR mostly plays music that I already listened to prior to finding out about the show.
