Almost all of you love Stash (band that made our theme song and a lot of our break music). Unfortunately, when Stash broke up a year ago we were left with no more new music to look forward to from our favorite white-boy reggae rock band that we've grown to know and love.
I was bummed as hell, because as you guys know, I love their music.
Recently, after slapping some sense into Scott Skilz (brains behind Stash), I convinced him to pick up the guitar again and start writing some new music. And that he did. With myself managing his music career we went right into the recording process (one of them live that a lot of you participated in) and laid down a few new tracks.
Within the first couple of songs I noticed a big difference in the new music he was writing. Some of you may have picked up on it too. It was very hip-hoppy and lacking that sublime/311, reggae rock... SOUL.
This went on for a few recording sessions when finally I decided to talk to him about this change. After a long conversation it boiled down to him lacking self confidence to do the same sound that he was doing before. He had convinced himself that his old music was crap, just because Stash didn't become successful. I explained to him that Stash would have been successful if the band didn't crap out on him. I told him how I get emails all the time with people asking me about Stash and how much people love his music. After going back and forth for a while the talk ended in a stalemate. We ended up just calling it creative differences.
WELLLLLL... This morning I get a call from him, after he slept on our discussion, and the first words out of his mouth was "YOU ARE RIGHT!" We had a great talk and he agreed that if people want Stash, then Stash is what he'll give em. I was happy to hear this, as I'm sure a lot of you are too.
About 5 hours after that conversation he calls me again and says, listen to this song I just wrote. He sets his cellphone on speaker and starts playing his guitar. After a 3 minute demonstration of his new found love for his old style, my jaw was on the FLOOR.
He played one of the best songs ever. He's back.

That's fuckin fantastic, man! And you are right. I bought Gettin' Trim just a couple weeks after I started listening to the show. It's great to see that we'll be hearing more of it.

Good to see that we'll be gettin' some more Stash-styled music soon.

I really think this community can help to get Stash off the ground. Its not hard to forward promo CD's to your local underground radio station, and I think we could make a difference.
What are you and Scott thinking of doing next, Brian?

Taking over the world. Actually we have to get the new album recorded before anything. Then we are going to need you guys to help promote the band by showing your friends and playing it while in the car with people. I'm telling you this new song blew my mind. It's got a similar feel to Kingston Vibe. I know you guys will dig it.

Scott is the heart of what was Stash. I love his guitar skills and he can count on selling a few cd's here which I will distribute to friends.
